The images of Manet shaking hands and sharing laughs with Chinese tycoons have sparked a wave of social media chatter. Some see it as a savvy move to secure much-needed investment, while others question the growing influence of China in the Kingdom.
Regardless of opinion, the charm offensive is working – at least in terms of attention. The pledges cover infrastructure, energy, and agriculture, promising jobs and development.
