Indian wushu athlete Vikrant Baliyan was eliminated from the men’s 75kg Sanda competition at the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, on Sunday. Baliyan lost his Round of 16 match to Iran’s Soheil Mousavi, who secured a 2-0 victory by winning both rounds 5-0. The defeat concluded India’s participation in the Sanda wushu category.
Earlier in the day, Aparna Dahiya also exited the tournament in the Round of 16 after a 0-2 loss to Iran’s Sogand Sinkaeichetan in the women’s 52kg Sanda event. Sinkaeichetan won both rounds 5-0. Dahiya had entered the competition following a gold medal performance at the 11th Sanda World Cup in Macau earlier this year.
In other wushu results, Suraj Singh Mayanglambam finished 11th in the final of the men’s Changquan event.
