Uganda’s Parliament has approved the deployment of the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) to Gaza as part of an International Stabilisation Force. The decision is in line with a proposal initially put forth by former US President Donald Trump.
However, opposition members of parliament have raised concerns regarding the deployment, questioning the neutrality of the force, the welfare of the deployed troops, and the legal framework governing the operation.
