The National Centre of Meteorology has forecast high temperatures across the United Arab Emirates on Sunday, with the mercury expected to reach 47 degrees Celsius in Liwa. Conditions are expected to be generally fair, becoming partly cloudy at times over eastern areas. Winds are forecast to be light to moderate, blowing from the southeast to northeast at speeds between 10 and 20 km/h, occasionally reaching 30 km/h. Humidity levels are expected to be high, particularly in Liwa, Al Ruwais, and Al Sila, where maximum relative humidity could reach 90 percent.
The humid weather pattern is expected to persist into the coming week. On Monday, September 21, clouds may develop over eastern areas with the possibility of convective clouds forming by the afternoon. Forecasters anticipate an increase in humidity overnight into Tuesday morning, creating a risk of fog or mist in some coastal and inland areas, particularly in the west. Winds may strengthen on Monday, reaching speeds of up to 35 km/h.
Fair to partly cloudy conditions are expected to continue through Tuesday, September 22, and Wednesday, September 23. Convective clouds are likely to develop over eastern and southern areas during the afternoons. The National Centre of Meteorology noted that mist remains possible in coastal areas during the overnight and early morning hours throughout this period.
Marine conditions in the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea are expected to remain slight throughout the early part of the week, though the Arabian Gulf may experience moderate conditions at times on Monday.
