In Central Park in Astana, a tree‑planting event was held as part of the national ecological campaign “Taza Kazakhstan” and the city’s World Cleanup Day celebration.
The activity brought together well‑known Kazakh athletes, coaches and members of the Street Workout project. Among the participants were two‑time Olympic silver medalist boxer Adilbek Niayazymbetov, Olympic bronze medalist Kamshykbek Kunkabaev, world MMA champion Vasiliy Takhta, and other representatives of the sports community.
Deputy head of the Sports and Mass Events Department of the Astana akimat, Erzhigit Usurbay, said the athletes joined the initiative to contribute to the beautification of the capital and to raise awareness about environmental stewardship.
“Today our city’s athletes gathered with a single goal—to help improve the capital and protect nature. The event is active and interesting, and every participant strives to contribute to the common cause,” Usurbay said.
World MMA champion Vasiliy Takhta attended the tree‑planting with his sons, explaining that the event was an opportunity to set a positive example for younger generations.
“We came with our sons to show them how to love our homeland. Through the ‘Taza Kazakhstan’ action we can demonstrate our love for our country,” Takhta shared.
After the ecological activity, the final event of the three‑month Street Workout season took place in the same park. Residents of Astana had been able to train outdoors for free during the season, with approximately 8,000 participants joining the sessions.
The season concluded with a street strength sports tournament. Winners and prize‑winners received medals, certificates and other awards.
