An emotional scene at a funeral in Tobago has gone viral after a grieving son broke down while speaking about his late father and publicly alleged that he had endured physical abuse during childhood.
The deceased has been identified in the funeral video as Harvey Anthony. A Tobago death announcement for a man of the same name states that Harvey Anthony, also known as “Jee-Boo,” of Carnbee #2, died at the Scarborough General Hospital on August 20, 2026, and was scheduled to be cremated on September 2.
During the funeral, the son initially acknowledged that his father was not perfect before his remarks became intensely emotional.
“He beat all of me,” he told those gathered, before repeatedly declaring, “He abused me.”
The man appeared overwhelmed as he spoke about his childhood and said he had been made to feel like a failure. He recalled that someone he identified as “Antichir” was the only person he felt had been proud of him.
His emotions continued to escalate as he made it clear that he wanted nothing from his late father’s estate.
“I want nothing to do with this land. I don’t want nothing to do with this money,” he declared as people around him attempted to calm and comfort him.
Video from the service shows another man embracing and attempting to restrain or console him as the emotional moment unfolded before mourners.
Another speaker subsequently addressed the congregation, speaking about human imperfections and shortcomings and encouraging those present to look towards Jesus for peace.
However, the situation became more tense when a voice could repeatedly be heard saying, “This is not true.”

The allegations against Anthony remain the son’s account and have not been independently verified. Because Anthony is deceased, he is also unable to respond to the claims.
