The 9th Princess Charlene Rally brought together around 400 third-year students from three Monaco schools on Wednesday, April 2, in Fontvieille. Princess Charlene herself attended a conference, a drawing workshop, and joined the selection of winning projects, the award ceremony, and a group photo with the #WhiteCard in support of the global Peace and Sport campaign.
The rally, organized under the National Directorate of Education, Youth and Sport (DENJS), aligns with the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace observed annually on April 6. The event aims to instill core sports values such as mutual aid, solidarity, and neutrality among youth.
Students from College Charles III, Institut Francois d’Assise-Nicolas Barre, and Lycee Rainier III formed mixed teams of four to five members each. The program included an educational conference with ambassadors Marlene Nidecker, Pierre Frolla, and Kevin Crovetto, featuring a film screening and discussion. A drawing competition challenged students to illustrate their vision of sport and peace.
Practical activities included an ergometer relay organized with the Societe Nautique de Monaco, a rescue course led by the Academie de la Mer, and an educational quiz covering the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation, Peace and Sport, and the Monaco Anti-Doping Committee. The rally highlighted the principality’s commitment to using sport as a tool for social development.
