Libya is moving ahead with plans to participate in the 22nd Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS), set to take place in Kuala Lumpur. The Tripoli Chamber of Commerce confirmed it attended a coordination meeting chaired by Essam Al-Awl, head of the General Authority for Exhibitions and Conferences, to finalize arrangements for Libya’s national pavilion.
The meeting, held on July 22, focused on organizational and technical aspects, including how to effectively showcase Libyan companies and halal products. Officials discussed boosting private sector involvement and ensuring a strong presence at the international event.
Essam Al-Awl stressed the need for unified efforts among relevant entities to reflect Libya’s capabilities and expand market access for its halal products. The gathering included key figures like Anwar Abu Sitta, Shukri Al-Latif, and Nader Bin Yaala.
Libya’s participation aims to open new trade cooperation avenues and enhance the global reach of its halal sector, leveraging Malaysia’s position as a leading halal hub.
