Harouge Oil Launches New Metering System at Amal Field to Boost Crude Oil Flow Accuracy

Libya’s Harouge Oil Operations is set to launch a new metering system at the Amal Field, a move aimed at upgrading its measurement infrastructure and improving operational efficiency. The company reported that an expanded meeting was held with relevant departments to review final arrangements for the system’s deployment.

The new metering system, described as among the most advanced technologies for measuring crude oil flow, will track production volumes from the Amal Field. It will also measure oil quantities received from the Arabian Gulf Oil Company (AGOCO) and the Sarir Oil & Gas Operations Company, as well as volumes dispatched to the Ras Lanuf terminal for export.

Harouge emphasized that the system is expected to enhance the accuracy and reliability of metering operations across the entire production and transport chain. This, in turn, will support operational efficiency and improve the management of crude oil data and volumes.

The company called the launch a significant leap forward and a strategic step in its ongoing efforts to upgrade metering systems, underscoring its commitment to modernizing Libya’s oil infrastructure.
