It Has to Be Said: Water Mismanagement

In a recent episode of the program It Has to Be Said, host Maria Titizian addressed the ongoing water crisis in Armenia, asserting that the nation’s primary challenge is the mismanagement of existing resources rather than a physical scarcity of water.

Titizian identified several systemic failures contributing to the crisis, including deteriorating infrastructure that leads to significant leakage, inefficient irrigation practices, and the discharge of untreated wastewater. Furthermore, the report highlighted the depletion of groundwater reserves as a critical concern.

According to the analysis, these management issues are exacerbated by the effects of climate change, which have increased the urgency of addressing the country’s water policy and infrastructure maintenance.
