Forward Emil Atlason is set to join Fram from Stjarnan, with a contract signing expected to take place today, October 30, 2026. The news was reported by football commentator Hjörvar Hafliðason, host of the podcast Dr. Football. Emil’s future had been subject to speculation as his contract with Stjarnan expired at the conclusion of the most recent season. Rúnar Páll Sigmundsson, the newly appointed head coach of Stjarnan, confirmed earlier this week that he had been in discussions with the 33-year-old forward regarding his future. "I have spoken with Emil about it. He just needs to make a decision himself on what he wants to do. I am not forcing anyone to be here. He has to decide that, and that is just how it is," Rúnar Páll stated on Tuesday, noting his interest in retaining the player. Emil joined Stjarnan ahead of the 2020 season. His previous career includes stints with HK, Þróttur, Valur, and KR, as well as a brief period with the German club Preussen Münster. Article source: Vísir | Image credit: Vísir
