Bomi Names LFA Executive Elvis Sirleaf to Run County Meet Campaign

Bomi County Appoints Elvis Sirleaf to Lead County Meet Campaign

Elvis Sirleaf, a member of the Liberia Football Association Executive Committee, has been appointed to run Bomi County’s campaign at the upcoming National County Sports Meet. Sirleaf, who is also the president of Samira FC, a team that plays in the LFA Second Division, will oversee the county sports committee.

The appointment comes as the Ministry of Youth and Sports has introduced a new funding model for the tournament, which requires counties to raise their own funds through a public digital platform using mobile money and bank transfers. This move aims to reduce reliance on political donors and increase transparency in sponsorship funding.

Bomi County has been drawn into Group D, alongside Margibi County and host Grand Kru County. In the previous edition of the tournament, held in Nimba County, Bomi County reached the group stage but failed to advance.

It is reported that the county sports committee will need to raise a significant portion of its own tournament funds. However, details on how this new funding model will be implemented for Bomi County’s committee are yet to be confirmed.
