Club Sando head coach Angus Eve believes his players can overcome defending champions Mount Pleasant FA in Jamaica and secure a place in the CONCACAF Caribbean Cup final, the Trinidad Express reports. The Trinidad and Tobago club enter the October 22 semi-final second leg after drawing 1-1 at the Hasely Crawford Stadium last week. The return fixture is scheduled for Sabina Park in Kingston, with kick-off listed for 7 p.m. Eve’s confidence rests on how his team responded during the opening encounter. Although disappointed that Club Sando did not convert more of their opportunities, he felt the players recovered from a slow start and demonstrated that they could compete with the Jamaican champions. Their task now is to deliver another strong performance while making better use of their chances. Mount Pleasant will have home advantage, and Eve sees greater self-belief as an important part of his team’s preparations. He urged the players to trust that their performances have earned them a place at this stage of the competition. The coach also took encouragement from the squad’s fitness and the absence of injuries from the first leg. Those positives give Club Sando a platform as they seek the more decisive attacking performance Eve wants. With the tie level, the focus is on translating that confidence into a result away from home. For Club Sando, a place in the Caribbean final depends on building on the resilience they showed in the opening leg and adding a sharper finish in front of goal.
