The Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs in the Sultanate of Oman has announced the opening of registration for citizens and residents wishing to perform Hajj for the 1448 AH season. Applications must be submitted through the official electronic system at www.hajj.om between September 28 and October 11.
The Ministry stated that Hajj companies are prohibited from intervening in the registration process to ensure transparency and allow applicants to select their preferred service provider. Once an applicant selects a company through the system, the choice is considered a binding contract. Applicants are required to pay a specified percentage electronically. The Ministry reserves the right to cancel any application if the required payment is not made within the designated timeframes.
According to the Ministry, the notification process and company selection for the first group of eligible pilgrims will take place from October 21 to November 11. The second group will select their companies from November 16 to November 22, and the third group from November 24 to November 27. The final deadline for cancellation requests is February 27, 2027, and the last date for air travel is May 12, 2027.
In preparation for the season, the Ministry held a meeting with authorized Hajj and Umrah companies to discuss updates and initiatives for 1448 AH. Sultan bin Hamad Al Maawali, Director General of Preaching and Guidance, emphasized the role of these companies as key partners in coordinating with authorities in Oman and Saudi Arabia.
Dr. Ahmed bin Ali Al Kaabi, Director General of Endowments, noted that the general satisfaction rate among Omani pilgrims reached 98 percent during the 1447 AH season, up from 96 percent the previous year. New initiatives for the upcoming season include a strategic contract to improve air transport services, the use of Taif Airport in Saudi Arabia as an alternative destination to reduce travel time, and the introduction of a unified electronic display and medical capacity initiatives.
Additionally, the Ministry of Health outlined new criteria for selecting medical teams to accompany Hajj groups, detailing the required number of health personnel based on the number of pilgrims and the specific duties of the medical staff.
