On Sunday, Rodríguez held a conference call with governors and cabinet members to outline an action plan to prepare for a severe drought.
As part of the plan, Rodríguez called for electricity rationing to mitigate the impact of the drought on the electrical system. The move is aimed at preventing disruptions to the power supply and ensuring the stability of the SEN.
In a related development, the US Chargé d’Affaires recently visited the Guri Dam, a key component of Venezuela’s electrical infrastructure. The visit comes as Venezuela struggles to maintain a stable power supply in the face of challenges such as drought and earthquakes.
