Venezuelan Oil Minister Eulogio Del Pino has assured the public that gasoline supply is guaranteed nationwide, despite recent reports of shortages and long queues at service stations in Caracas and other states.
In a press release, Del Pino stated, ‘We are guaranteeing the supply of gasoline to the entire country, even in the worst scenarios that may arise as a result of the aggressions of the United States.’ He attributed the delays to US sanctions that have complicated payment for chartered ships.
The opposition had earlier flagged gasoline scarcity in eastern Venezuela and urged authorities to address the situation. Reports from local media and witnesses confirmed disruptions in Caracas and interior regions.
Del Pino acknowledged that some stations remain closed due to operational reasons but stressed that the number is minimal. In March, similar supply issues in four central states were blamed on cabotage delays.
