**U.S. Officials Visit Syunik to Discuss TRIPP Infrastructure Project**

**SYUNIK, Armenia** — A delegation of U.S. officials, including Chargé d’Affaires David Allen and State Department Senior Advisor for Policy Planning Staff Jon Askonas, recently traveled to Armenia’s Syunik province to discuss the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) project with local communities.

The delegation, accompanied by representatives from the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, held town hall meetings in the cities of Goris, Meghri, and Kapan. The sessions were designed to provide local residents with information regarding the project and to gather community feedback. Representatives from the engineering firm AECOM also participated in the discussions to outline ongoing technical work.

During the visit, Chargé d’Affaires David Allen stated that the TRIPP project is transitioning from the planning phase to implementation. He noted that technical engineering surveys for a proposed rail connection are currently underway in Armenia.

According to a news release from the U.S. Embassy in Armenia, Allen emphasized the project’s potential to stimulate economic growth. He stated that the initiative aims to create jobs, attract investment, and improve regional connectivity, with the goal of providing tangible economic benefits to communities throughout Armenia, with a specific focus on the Syunik region.
