Tripura Aims to Increase Higher Education Enrollment Ratio

The government of Tripura has announced an ambitious plan to increase the state’s Gross Enrolment Ratio (GER) in higher education. According to Tripura Higher Education Minister Kishore Barman, the goal is to raise the current GER of 22 percent to 75 percent by 2030.

Minister Barman stated that achieving this target is essential to realizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a “Developed India” (Viksit Bharat). The initiative is part of the state’s efforts to improve its higher education sector and align with the national goal of developing the country.

The announcement was made by Minister Barman in Agartala, where he emphasized the importance of increasing access to higher education in the state. The target set by the minister aims to significantly increase the number of students enrolled in higher education institutions in Tripura over the next eight years.
