The Union professionnelle des agréés en douane du Togo (UPRAD-Togo) has officially joined the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA), marking a historic milestone for the country and the Francophone West African region. The membership, effective July 1, 2026, was announced during a press conference in Lomé on July 23.
UPRAD-Togo is now the first association from a Francophone West African nation to become a member of FIATA, a global body representing freight forwarders and logistics service providers in over 150 countries. The admission was ratified at FIATA’s statutory general assembly on June 26, following a multi-year process of governance modernization and alignment with international standards.
President Patrick Magnon hailed the achievement: ‘Our entry into FIATA marks a historic step for UPRAD-Togo. It reflects our efforts to align with international standards and offer Togolese freight professionals new opportunities for growth and openness.’
The membership will provide local professionals access to international training and certification programs, best practice exchanges, and a global network of partners in transport and logistics. It also supports Togo’s ambition to consolidate its position as a regional logistics hub in West Africa.
