Tanzania’s Private Sector Foundation Joins ICC to Boost Trade and Investment

The Tanzania Private Sector Foundation (TPSF) has taken a significant step in bolstering its international presence by officially joining the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC). This partnership was solidified during the Tanzania-France Business Roundtable held in Paris, where TPSF CEO Deo Massawe signed the agreement with ICC Deputy Secretary General Julia Kassum. The signing was witnessed by Prime Minister Mwigulu Nchemba, marking a historic collaboration aimed at facilitating trade and attracting investments into Tanzania.

Under this new partnership, TPSF will promote the ICC’s various services, including trade facilitation, dispute resolution, and investment opportunities specific to Tanzania. An ICC Tanzania National Committee will also be established, with plans to launch an office within the year, indicating a robust commitment to enhancing the business environment.

This development aligns with Tanzania’s ambitious Vision 2050 initiative aimed at pushing the economy towards a one-trillion-dollar milestone, heavily relying on a thriving private sector. Prime Minister Nchemba is encouraging French investors to explore potential investments in agriculture, infrastructure, mining, digital technology, and the blue economy. The partnership with ICC is expected to play a pivotal role in making this vision a reality.
