Sorie Fofana has issued an open letter to President Julius Maada Bio, formally requesting that the president grant his assent to the Constitution of Sierra Leone (Amendment) Act, 2025. The legislation was passed by the Sierra Leonean legislature on August 10, 2026.
In his correspondence, Fofana addressed the president regarding the constitutional amendment process. He emphasized the importance of the separation of powers among the three branches of government while urging the executive to finalize the legislative process by signing the act into law.
