In Pago Pago, American Samoa, the Board of Higher Education announced that Dr. Mikaele Etuale will serve as the new president of American Samoa Community College, effective September 8, 2026.
The appointment follows the Board’s decision not to renew the contract of former president Dr. Rosevonne Makaiwi‑Pato and the interim leadership of Sonny J. Leomiti.
Chairperson Dr. Oreta Mapu Crichton issued a memorandum on September 2, 2026 to faculty, staff and students, naming Dr. Etuale as the incoming president.
