Thai police have arrested 16 individuals and seized over one million methamphetamine pills and 514 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine following a week-long operation. The initiative, titled Blocklist Hunt, was conducted by the Central Investigation Bureau between September 4 and September 11 across 16 locations in Thailand and abroad.
In addition to the narcotics, authorities confiscated four vehicles and three firearms. Pol. Maj. Gen. Phatthanasak Buppasuwan stated that the operation successfully disrupted drug supply chains ranging from street-level distributors to larger trafficking networks. The total value of the seized assets and illicit substances is estimated at more than 120 million baht.
Among those arrested, police identified five primary suspects. One individual, described as an associate of a trafficker known as Pao Kranuan, faces charges including attempted murder and the killing of a police officer. Two other suspects were apprehended in Myanmar; both carried 400,000 baht bounties and are allegedly linked to a network responsible for moving 300 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine.
The remaining two primary suspects are reportedly connected to a pill network in Bueng Kan province and a separate network involving 214 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine. The other 11 individuals arrested during the sweep were identified as district-level distributors, including members of online distribution networks in Mueang Khon Kaen, Kranuan, and Nong Kung Si.
