Kuwait’s Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) has taken a new step to enforce the midday work ban by launching a dedicated WhatsApp number for public reporting. Citizens and residents can now send reports to 24936192 if they see workers being forced to labor outdoors during the prohibited hours.
The midday work ban, which applies during the hottest months, prohibits outdoor work in open areas to protect workers from extreme heat and heat-related illnesses. PAM has urged the public to actively report any violations, emphasizing that community involvement is key to ensuring compliance.
By providing a direct and accessible channel via WhatsApp, PAM aims to streamline the reporting process and increase oversight. The authority has not specified penalties for violations but reiterated the importance of adhering to the ban for worker safety.
This initiative reflects ongoing efforts to strengthen labor protections in Kuwait, particularly for vulnerable workers in construction and other outdoor sectors. PAM continues to monitor compliance and encourages all residents to participate in safeguarding workers’ rights.
