The mega-yacht Al Saïd, once the world’s largest when built in 2008, is set to anchor in the Gulf of Saint-Tropez for a high-profile charity gala. The 155-meter vessel, owned by the Omani royal family, will serve as the venue for ‘The Great Gatsby Gala’ on Thursday, July 23.
The event is organized by Milutin Gatsby’s Knights of Charity, a foundation that regularly hosts exclusive dinners at the Château de La Croix-des-Gardes in Cannes. The gala will feature an exclusive dinner for fewer than 200 guests on the yacht’s helipad, a first for the diplomatic ship.
Celebrity attendees include actress Sharon Stone, musician ‘Boombastic’ Shaggy, and singer Robin Thicke, known for his hit ‘Blurred Lines’. DJ Carlita will also perform. The auction, led by former Sotheby’s Europe chairman Simon de Pury, will offer experiences such as private concerts and a week of yachting, with proceeds supporting children’s causes.
The yacht stopped in Monaco earlier to load supplies for the event. The gala underscores the growing trend of luxury charity events on the French Riviera, blending glamour with philanthropy.
