Durazno secured both the youth and senior titles at the OFI National Futsal Selection Cup on Saturday, September 19. The matches were held at the Ernesto de Leon sports complex.
In the under-17 final, the Durazno team drew 8-8 against Florida. Durazno entered the match with a 6-2 advantage from the first leg. Despite Florida taking an early 3-1 lead within the first four minutes and missing a penalty kick, Durazno maintained its aggregate lead to claim the championship.
In the senior division final, Durazno defeated San Jose 8-4. San Jose had entered the match with an 8-6 lead from the first leg and extended that advantage to 10-6 early in the second half. Durazno staged a comeback to win the match and the title.
Durazno’s scoring in the senior match included two goals each from Lucas Alvarez, Pablo Caceres, and Alexis Alvarez. Joaquin Alvarez and Maximiliano Dominguez also contributed one goal each to the victory.
