Trinidad and Tobago soca artiste Nailah Blackman shared a heartwarming mother-and-daughter moment as she took her mum shopping for the perfect outfit ahead of the Caribbean Music Awards.
Blackman documented their visit to Kootis Couture, where the pair went in search of something special for the upcoming event.
“Today, my mommy is coming along with me to pick out a dress,” Nailah said, adding that they wanted to find something “really, really beautiful.”
She also revealed that her mother will be attending the Caribbean Music Awards, making the shopping trip a special occasion for both women.
Following their visit, Nailah shared a photograph of herself alongside her mother at Kootis Couture, with both women holding pink garment bags.
“I thank God for my mother,” Nailah wrote, while tagging Kootis Couture and adding that her mum was “going to look amazing.”
The moment gave followers a glimpse into Nailah’s close relationship with her mother as they prepared together for one of the region’s major celebrations of Caribbean music.
Music has long been a family affair for Nailah, who comes from the renowned Blackman musical family and is the granddaughter of Ras Shorty I, the Trinidad and Tobago musician widely recognised for his pioneering role in the development of soca.
With their outfits now selected, Nailah and her mum appear ready to make their Caribbean Music Awards appearance together.
