Michelle Benjamin Gets Hands-On at Back-to-School Hair and Grooming Initiative
Minister of Culture and Community Development Michelle Benjamin traded official duties for a more hands-on role as she joined a back-to-school haircut and hairdressing initiative aimed at helping children prepare for the new school term.
Benjamin shared highlights from the initiative on social media on Saturday, showing children receiving haircuts and hairstyling ahead of their return to the classroom.
In one of the standout moments, the minister could be seen personally assisting with a young girl’s hair, taking part in the grooming activities rather than simply attending the event.
The initiative focused on helping children look and feel prepared as families make their final arrangements for the reopening of school.
“Helping our children look and feel their best as they get ready for the new school term,” Benjamin said in her post.
Free or community-supported grooming initiatives can provide practical assistance to families during the back-to-school period, when parents and guardians are often faced with expenses ranging from uniforms and books to transportation and other school supplies.
For Benjamin, the activity also provided an opportunity to interact directly with children and families ahead of the new academic term.
The minister described the event as a “Back to School: Haircut & Hairdressing” initiative, with images and video showing both hairstyling and barbering taking place.
With the new school term approaching, the event added a community-focused touch to preparations, ensuring participating children could head back to the classroom with a fresh look and renewed confidence.
