Influencer Died After Cosmetic Procedure in Thailand, Inquest Finds Pulmonary Embolism

Igho “Tiny” Ubiribo, a 43‑year‑old British‑Nigerian businessman and popular social‑media influencer, died in Thailand after a cosmetic penis‑enlargement procedure. The injection, performed in March 2024 at an unnamed Bangkok clinic while he was traveling with his wife, Danielle Simba Allen, involved about 40 ml of hyaluronic acid mixed with lidocaine.

Shortly after the treatment, the couple went for a massage. Ubiribo began experiencing chest pain, collapsed twice, and was rushed by ambulance to Sukhumvit Hospital. He was conscious at first, but his condition deteriorated before a CT scan could be done. Doctors diagnosed a pulmonary embolism, transferred him to intensive care, and attempted CPR for more than 100 minutes.

He died early on March 6. An inquest at the Inner West London Coroner’s Court later ruled that the embolism was caused by complications from the cosmetic injection. A post‑mortem in the United Kingdom confirmed hyaluronic acid material in his lungs, and Coroner Jean Harkin officially linked the procedure to his death.

Ubiribo had built a sizeable following by documenting his luxury lifestyle and business interests. The case has drawn widespread attention and underscores the potentially fatal risks of invasive cosmetic filler procedures, especially when substances enter the bloodstream and obstruct pulmonary circulation.
