A Malaysian senior executive working in Singapore was subjected to racial profiling when a stranger at a laundromat twice insisted that the clothes she was washing must belong to her employer. Shikin, a senior account specialist, was doing her own laundry after a long workday when a woman approached her and firmly stated that the clothes could not be hers. Despite Shikin’s clarification, the stranger remained convinced, equating brown skin with domestic help.
