Lancia has officially unveiled the Gamma, a new crossover fastback that marks the brand’s return to the mid-size SUV segment. The vehicle was presented at the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy, coinciding with the brand’s 120th anniversary in 2026.
The Gamma is built on the STLA Medium platform and measures 4.67 meters in length. It will be offered with both hybrid and electric powertrains. According to the manufacturer, the hybrid version is expected to provide a total range exceeding 1,000 kilometers, while the electric variants are projected to reach approximately 740 kilometers. A high-performance all-wheel-drive version producing 375 horsepower is also planned for the lineup.
The development and design of the vehicle were conducted in Italy, with the Lancia Style Center in Turin leading the design process under the direction of Gianni Colonello. The production of the vehicle is assigned to the Stellantis plant in Melfi. The project involves approximately thirty suppliers, including about ten based in the Basilicata region.
This launch follows the introduction of the new Ypsilon and the brand’s return to rally competitions. Lancia stated that the Gamma is intended to expand its customer base, targeting a balance between private and business clients, while maintaining Italy as the brand’s primary market.
