Honouring a legacy: Calabar, KC clash headlines ‘Wagga’ Hunt Football Classic

**Calabar and Kingston College to Headline Annual ‘Wagga’ Hunt Football Classic**

The annual David ‘Wagga’ Hunt Football Classic is scheduled to take place on Saturday, August 22, at Calabar High School. The event, which serves as a pre-season fixture for schoolboy football, honors the legacy of the late sports administrator and coach David ‘Wagga’ Hunt.

The tournament serves as a fundraiser for the David ‘Wagga’ Hunt Scholarship Foundation, which provides financial, educational, and mentorship support to students at both Kingston College (KC) and Calabar High.

The day’s schedule begins at 1:00 p.m. with a Masters League match between Pelicans and Christian Ambassadors.

At 2:00 p.m., daCosta Cup champions St Elizabeth Technical High School (STETHS) are set to face St Andrew Technical High School (STATHS). STETHS enters the match following their daCosta Cup victory last season, while STATHS continues to compete as a consistent contender in the Manning Cup.

The feature match, scheduled for 4:00 p.m., will showcase a rivalry between Kingston College and Calabar High. Both teams will enter the match under new coaching leadership.

In addition to the football matches, the event will recognize three individuals for their contributions to the development of football in Jamaica: Howard ‘Juicy’ Bell, Emerson ‘Diggy’ Henry, and Patricia Garel.

Admission to the event is $1,000, and food and beverages will be available for purchase.
