Kanfanar, a town in Istria, Croatia, hosted the annual Fužijada festival on 19 September 2026. The event, which celebrates the region’s signature pasta, fuži, attracted visitors to the town square for a day of food, workshops, and entertainment.
The festival began at 17:30, when the square transformed into an open‑air kitchen. Chefs Antonio Brajković and Stjepan Vukadin presented a cooking show that showcased several fuži preparations, including dishes with boškarina, truffle, shrimp, mussels, and zucchini. After the demonstration, attendees could sample the dishes free of charge.
Participants also enjoyed a selection of Istrian wines supplied by Vinistra, as well as workshops on making fuži and cocktails produced by the Damijanić distillery. A “merkat od fuži” stall offered fuži, truffle, cheese, hot sauces, and other complementary products for purchase.
Sweet treats were available from local producers, featuring fritule and ice cream from the Buzetski “Oša” shop. The Kanfanarska butiqa offered promotional prices on fuži during the festival.
Children were entertained with a dedicated animation program that included games such as Križić‑Fužića and Fuži memory, face painting, and a new play area called “Zvrkograd,” which opened near the square on the day of the event.
Art enthusiasts could watch illustrator Daliborka Simić create quick portraits in two minutes. Visitors were also able to purchase ingredients for homemade fuži from stalls around the square.
The evening concluded with a musical performance that was part of the “Nek’ živi ljubav za ona dobra stara vremena” tour. The lineup featured Novi fosili, Srebrna krila, and Vlada Kalembera, with the concert scheduled to start at 20:30.
