On Tuesday, an emergency specialist and traumatologist testified in the Cayman Islands court that the placement of an intubation tube did not cause the death of Travis Ebanks.
Dr. Fred Simon, who provided expert medical evidence on behalf of Dr. Paul Taiganides, who faces a manslaughter charge, stated that Ebanks was already dying before the doctor intubated him.
Ebanks arrived at George Town Hospital in the early hours of 21 January 2024. The doctor performed the intubation, but the expert concluded that the tube placement was not the cause of death.
The case remains under judicial review, with the court hearing evidence from both sides
