Corporate relief

South Korean conglomerate Doosan announced a $5 million donation for emergency assistance to Nepal following the August 26 flood that severely damaged the Upper Trishuli‑1 hydropower project, where Doosan is a lead investor with the International Finance Corporation.

Nirvana Chaudhary of Chaudhary Foundation and Nabil Bank announced a contribution of 150 million Nepalese rupees to support 500 temporary shelters, food, medical supplies and tents for flood survivors.

Surya Nepal donated 150 million rupees to flood relief work and presented a cheque to Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle.

Unilever Nepal Limited contributed 50 million rupees to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund and donated hygiene products worth 10 million rupees for affected communities.

The Jyoti Group pledged 50 million rupees. Prime Commercial Bank pledged 30.1 million rupees, and the Agricultural Development Bank contributed 30 million rupees. Nepal Life Insurance donated 25.1 million rupees.
