Bolivia’s Central Obrera Boliviana (COB) has intensified its protest movement, now calling for President Luis Arce’s resignation, despite the government’s decision to abrogate the controversial Law 1720. The COB began mobilizations nearly two weeks ago, initially pushing for wage increases and supporting indigenous marchers from Beni and Pando who sought the repeal of Law 1720. While the government moved to abrogate the law, protesters have expanded their demands, now seeking Arce’s ouster.
