This temporary appointment comes as the current Education Minister, Dr. Michael R. Dowlath, is overseas on official duties. Padarath will assume the additional responsibilities from August 11 to August 14, 2026. During this period, he will be overseeing the activities of the Ministry of Education while continuing his roles in the Ministry of Public Utilities and the Office of the Prime Minister.
