Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that he has agreed to meet former U.S. President Donald Trump in New York following a telephone conversation between the two leaders.

Russia has warned that it will intensify strikes on Kyiv in response to Ukrainian drone attacks that occurred during the Russian parliamentary elections.
A statement from the Russian Ministry of Defense said: “In response to attacks by the Kyiv system on civilian targets on Russian territory, the Russian Armed Forces will continue to intensify strikes using high‑precision weapons against military targets in Kyiv.” The statement also accused Ukraine of attempting to “undermine the democratic expression of the will of the Russian people.”
Russian parliamentary elections are underway, with the third and final day of voting taking place today. The 450‑seat State Duma is expected to be won by United Russia, the ruling party that supports President Vladimir Putin.
Only parties that support Putin and the war in Ukraine were allowed to participate in the elections. These include the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia, the United Russia party, and the New People party.
Earlier today, the chair of Russia’s Central Election Commission, Ilya Bampilova, reported that the infrastructure linked to the election process had been targeted by more than 1,000 distributed denial‑of‑service (DDoS) attacks in recent days.
While Bampilova did not identify the perpetrators, she said that the attacks were carried out by “well‑organized professional groups that use artificial‑intelligence tools.”
DDoS attacks involve flooding a system or website with a large volume of electronic requests, which can disrupt its operation or reduce its responsiveness.
