Residents of Tashkent observed a bright object with a long trail in the night sky on September 19. The phenomenon, which was captured on video and widely shared across social media platforms, prompted an investigation by experts at the Ulugh Beg Astronomical Institute.
Following an analysis of the footage, researchers have ruled out the possibility that the object was a meteor or a bolide. According to preliminary calculations provided by the institute, the light observed in the sky was linked to the launch of a Chinese Long March-2D carrier rocket from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center.
The rocket successfully deployed four satellites into orbit during the mission.
