Uzbekistan is experiencing economic growth characterized by a reduction in inequality, according to data from the World Bank. The findings were presented by Botir Zakhidov, the Minister of Employment and Poverty Reduction, during the Global Coalition for Social Justice forum.
During the event, the minister outlined the results of recent national reforms. Zakhidov reported that the poverty rate in Uzbekistan has decreased to 3.9 percent, while the unemployment rate has fallen to 4.5 percent. Additionally, the minister noted that the country achieved significant progress in providing income-generating employment opportunities throughout 2025.
