Cambodian Minister of Information Neth Pheaktra has stated that a ceasefire agreement between Cambodia and Thailand cannot be used to establish new international borders or grant legal ownership of territory currently occupied by military forces.
According to the minister, the presence of troops from either side in specific areas during a ceasefire does not confer legal rights to that land. He emphasized that such military arrangements are distinct from the formal processes required to define national boundaries.
