Australia in South Africa: Cooper Connolly set to play for Aussies in deciding Test

Australia have announced a revised Test XI for the deciding match against South Africa in Gqeberha, with three changes to the side that played the first fixture. Cooper Connolly and West Australian all‑rounder Cameron Green are both set to return to the lineup, while veteran spinner Nathan Lyon has been recalled after missing the previous game. The changes come after Australia’s 4‑0 defeat in the first Test. The only bowler omitted from the squad is Scott Boland; Nic Maddinson and Beau Webster have also been left out. Marnus Labuschagne will be back in the batting order, and Josh Inglis is listed as a standby for Steve Smith, who is still recovering from a neck injury. The Australian team is expected to be confirmed at the toss, scheduled for 4 pm Western Australia time at Newlands. The XI, as reported by Seven’s Tom Morris, is: Matt Renshaw Travis Head Marnus Labuschagne Steve Smith Cameron Green Alex Carey Cooper Connolly Pat Cummins Mitchell Starc Nathan Lyon * Josh Hazlewood The decision comes as Australia seeks to secure a series win in South Africa.
