Arajet alcanza cinco millones de pasajeros y afianza a República Dominicana como punto de conexión de las Américas

Arajet, the Dominican Republic’s flag‑carrier, announced that it has transported its fifth million passengers since beginning operations in September 2022. The milestone underscores the airline’s rapid growth and the country’s emerging role as a hub for air travel across the Americas. The carrier’s network now serves more than 30 destinations in 17 countries, with its main operating bases at Santo Domingo and Punta Cana. Flights from these airports provide direct service to the Dominican Republic and connect passengers between North America, Central America, South America and the Caribbean. Arajet reported that it carried 1,480,278 passengers in 2025, a 37 % increase over the previous year. In the first half of 2026 the airline moved 1,022,593 passengers, up 63.7 % compared with the same period in 2025. “We have built confidence and created an opportunity for the Dominican Republic to host an airline capable of linking the Americas,” said Víctor Pacheco Méndez, CEO and founder of Arajet. “Each new route expands the possibilities for attracting visitors, bringing markets closer together, and generating economic activity. Our vision is to keep growing so more people can fly and the country can solidify its position as a continental connection point.” The airline’s expanded connectivity is expected to benefit the Dominican tourism sector by increasing visitor numbers and supporting the hospitality, gastronomy, excursion, transport and retail industries. Operating from both Santo Domingo and Punta Cana allows the airline to serve a range of travel purposes, from beach vacations and cultural tours to business trips and family visits. To celebrate the achievement, Arajet honored the passenger who became the airline’s fifth millionth traveler. The passenger, who was en route to New York, was recognized during an interaction with Dominican content creator Semipopi. Arajet awarded the passenger a round‑trip ticket to any Arajet destination. Arajet began operations in September 2022 with a modern fleet of Boeing 737 MAX aircraft. Its mission is to democratize air travel and provide more affordable connectivity across the Americas, positioning the Dominican Republic as a key regional air‑traffic hub.
