WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump hosted a Halloween celebration at the White House on Thursday, distributing candy to children and families in a tradition held on the South Lawn. The event, which welcomed an estimated 6,000 guests, included military families, government officials, and their children. Among the notable attendees were Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer, and Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller. The President arrived at the event following a campaign rally in South Carolina. The White House grounds were decorated with autumn-themed displays, including a large "Harvest Moon" installation and a giant pumpkin provided by the Department of Agriculture. Throughout the lawn, stations were set up offering coloring books, science experiment kits, and toys. The Air Force’s "Strolling Strings" band provided musical accompaniment, playing traditional Halloween melodies and classic songs. During the festivities, the President and First Lady interacted with guests dressed in various costumes, including depictions of historical figures such as George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. President Trump signed a copy of the Declaration of Independence for one attendee dressed as a Founding Father. The event also featured a surprise flyover by Air Force One, which passed near the White House, drawing applause from the crowd. This gathering marked the second time the Trumps have hosted a "trick-or-treat" event at the White House during the President's second term. The celebration remains a long-standing tradition in the United States, observed annually ahead of October 31. Article source: El Nuevo Diario | Image credit: El Nuevo Diario
