In addition to the tourism ban, officials have prohibited travel in hilly regions between 7:00 PM and 6:00 AM. These measures follow a fatal landslide in Vattavada that resulted in two deaths and left one woman hospitalized with serious injuries.
Infrastructure damage has further complicated the situation in the region. A bridge on the Kottakkamboor-Thattambara road collapsed due to the severe weather, leaving approximately 30 families isolated and trapping around 100 tourists in the area. Local authorities are monitoring the situation as the district remains under an orange alert.
