The Koyilandy Fast Track Special Court in Kozhikode has sentenced a man to four years of rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of 55,000 rupees in a Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) case. The court found Abdul Rehman, a resident of Parasseri Mukku Poyilil, guilty of sexually assaulting a minor.
Judge K. Naushad Ali delivered the verdict regarding the incident, which took place in 2023 at the victim’s home. According to court records, the case came to light after the victim disclosed the assault to a doctor at the Kozhikode Medical College, who subsequently alerted the police.
The investigation was conducted by the Koduvally police under the leadership of Sub-Inspector A.P. Anoop, leading to the arrest of the accused. Advocate P. Jithin represented the prosecution during the proceedings.
