A female worker at a food processing factory in the Kelemak industrial area of Alor Gajah, Malacca, suffered a severe injury when her hand became trapped in a grinding machine on 10 September. The incident occurred at approximately 10:50 a.m., according to the assistant director of the Malacca Fire and Rescue Department, Mohd Shahrom Laji.
Rescue personnel arrived on the scene within minutes. A team of ten responders confirmed that the worker’s left hand had been caught in the machine and that all fingers on that hand had been severed.
The factory’s management has not yet released a statement regarding the incident. The Malacca Fire and Rescue Department has advised that the worker is receiving medical treatment at a local hospital.
Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident to determine whether safety protocols were followed.
