Iran President Admits ‘Full-Scale War’ with US as Attacks Intensify

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has officially acknowledged that Iran is engaged in a ‘full-scale war’ with the United States, marking a significant escalation in the ongoing conflict. Speaking on Monday, Pezeshkian stated, ‘The reality is that the Islamic Republic of Iran is involved in a large-scale war. We must understand the reality and accept the natural consequences of this resistance.’

The admission comes as US strikes have expanded across northern and central Iran, including the vicinity of Bushehr, home to Iran’s only operational civilian nuclear power plant. Governor Mohammad Muzaffari confirmed that ‘projectiles of the American enemy’ fell in several locations in Bushehr city.

Iran’s Revolutionary Guards responded by launching attacks on military positions in Bahrain, Jordan, Syria, and Kuwait. In Kuwait, an early-warning radar system was reportedly destroyed. Bahrain’s interior ministry reported air raid sirens and urged civilians to take shelter.

Despite the hostilities, diplomatic channels remain open. Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Baghai confirmed that talks with the US are ongoing through mediators, noting that ‘some mediators have conveyed their ideas to us.’ The conflict has also impacted global oil markets, with prices hitting one-month highs due to disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz.
