In a significant bust, the Debe Highway Patrol Unit arrested two Venezuelan nationals on the afternoon of April 6, 2026. The arrest occurred during a routine exercise along the Sir Solomon Hochoy Highway, in the vicinity of Golconda. The vehicle, intercepted during standard patrol duties, was found to contain illegal weapons.
The vehicle, bearing the registration number PBO 1133, was driven by a 35-year-old man accompanied by a 30-year-old Venezuelan national. Both men are reportedly residents of the Debe area. The routine stop-and-search operation led to a surprising find: two loaded semi-automatic pistols.
Upon the discovery, the weapons were immediately seized, and both occupants of the vehicle were taken into custody at the scene without any incident. This significant seizure is part of the ongoing efforts by law enforcement to curb illegal firearms in the area.
As investigations continue, sources indicate that the suspects are expected to face charges related to the illegal possession of firearms and ammunition. This case serves as a stark reminder of the constant vigilance required by law enforcement in their battle against illegal arms trafficking.
