World Sexual Health Day: 4 September

**World Sexual Health Day Observed on 4 September**

The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and the World Health Organization (WHO) observe World Sexual Health Day each year on 4 September. The day is intended to raise awareness of sexual health issues and promote access to sexual and reproductive health services worldwide.

A recent article on the NOW Grenada website highlighted the significance of the day and included a statement regarding the removal of parental consent requirements for minors seeking sexual health services. The article quoted: “Removing the legal requirement of parental consent does nothing to threaten wholesome families; but it gives vulnerable children, trapped in abominable situations, a window of legal access to health professionals.”
